Dress Code

The school uniform/dress code plays a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of a school and setting an appropriate tone.

Mother Goose® International Pre-school strongly encourages students to wear a uniform / respect the dress code as it can instil pride, support positive behaviour and discipline; encourage identity with, and support for, school ethos; ensure pupils of all races and backgrounds feel welcome; protect children from social pressures to dress in a particular way; and nurture cohesion and promote good relations between different groups of pupils. Above all, we believe that the school uniform/dress code supports effective teaching and learning.

Why do children wear a uniform/respect the dress code at Mother Goose® International Pre-school?

All the children look the same as their friends and it instils a feeling of belonging to a group even if they have not learned to speak English yet.
It stops children from worrying about what to wear each day and makes dressing up in the mornings easy.
Everyone is equal regardless of where they come from and the household income is not visible.
Parents do not have to shop for expensive and varied wardrobes for their children to keep up with or show-off to other children.
Helping parents and children resist peer pressure.
Wearing a uniform instils a sense of pride and manners in students.
